Late last week, seven senior Republican Senators sent a letter to Majority Leader Harry Reid, complaining that the Cybersecurity Act of 2012 was being rushed through and that they had not been adequately consulted on the contents of the bill.  Democratic Senators and staff vehemently deny the suggestion and argue that the bill has been 3-years in development. Senator Joseph Lieberman said: “”We pleaded for involvement. A lot of people including yourself  [referring to Senator John McCain] have not come to the table.”

Now comes the news (rumored last week) that Senator McCain and a number of other Republicans intend to introduce an alternate bill.  The legislative consideration of cybersecurity legislation, just took an interesting turn.
